Fused glass is created by heat fusing two pieces of glass together to form a finished bowl or platter. I generally use a clear base cut into the shape of the final piece, and add colorful sheets or strings of glass that have been cut into forms to complete the work. Many of the edges are rippled, either by the nature of the glass, or the perfect ‘imperfect’ cuts I employ.
A multi-step process takes bronze clay to the finished piece. After molding the ‘clay’ it is kiln-fired. After that, the piece is drilled, polished and assembled. I have named this collection ‘Totem’ as each piece is representative of whatever you wish it to be. Easily closed with a toggle, every necklace gives you an opportunity to wear it fully in circle, or to put the toggle in a tighter ‘charm’, allowing the last pieces to dangle like a lariat.
